Workshops for Primary Schools on using Drama to support READING AND WRITING

 

A wide range of workshops are available for schools interested in supporting areas of both curriculum delivery and extra curricular activity. All workshops are planned and delivered by highly experienced subject experts and can be offered either as a standalone activity or embedded within the school timetable. 

The minimum duration is 90 minutes and prices start at £250 per workshop (incl. VAT), excluding reasonable travel expenses.

  • Half Day workshops (3-4 hours) start at £300

  • Full Day workshops (7-8 hours) start at £500

 

Workshops for Secondary Schools

 

At Key Stage 3 workshops are available in all of the following areas:

  • Developing Physical Theatre Skills

  • Developing Commedia Skills

  • Introduction to Stanislavski

  • Introduction to Brecht

  • From Page to Stage – text specific exploration

  • Developing performance skills

  • Analysing the social historical cultural context of a play

At Key Stage 4 workshops are available in all of the above including the following additional topics:

  • Evaluating live performance – a system for analysis

  • Developing your devising skills

  • Staging the text to explore the subtext

  • Introduction to Peter Brook

  • Introduction to Antonin Artaud

Key Stage 5 workshops available on a range of practitioners and texts to suit the choice of exam specification.

 

Workshops for Further Education

 

Workshops for Post 16 students studying a range of qualifications including A Level Drama and Theatre and BTEC Performing Arts. Coverage of theatre practitioners, dramatic text and a range of genres. Support with devising and directing strategies.

Theory based and workshop based sessions - prices negotiable depending on numbers of student and duration.

Revision Workshops

 

Help your students achieve success by booking a revision workshop on any of the set texts, or simply as a booster to help them address the demands of the written exam.

Workshops available for up to 30 Key Stage 4 or 5 students = £500 inclusive rate for a full day revision conference and £350 per half day (3 hour) workshop.

Practical workshops for teachers of all key stages

 

All courses now available as interactive twilight webinars running from 3.30pm - 5.30pm at a cost of £25 per person.

With extensive experience in design and delivery of a range of training packages for teachers, our staff are well placed to offer a range of workshops both in individual school settings, partnership clusters and training venues.

Workshops are available on a number of aspects of Drama and Performing Arts teaching offered either in specific relation to an aspect of a qualification specification or in support of an identified local need.

All courses will be held remotely.

Audit and Review Curriculum Consultancy

 

Inspection and peer review frameworks of all kinds pose particular challenges for schools seeking to demonstrate excellence in teaching, learning and assessment. As a subject sitting outside of the core national curriculum framework Drama offers teachers a range of opportunities to demonstrate their contribution to the holistic education of every young person. 

Our Director is well placed to support subject leaders with their interpretation of evaluation criteria. Work with the department can be planned to take place over a single day or a series of separate consultancy visits. Advisory activities would be planned to meet the needs of all stakeholders. To support schools to make the most of a consultancy visit a tiered offer is available:

Bronze £400 per day

  • Diagnostic analysis of current performance information (progress data)

  • Usefulness of current assessment systems and protocols

  • Scrutiny of design and delivery of schemes of work to meet the demands of examination specifications

  • 1 lesson observation and feedback on teaching and learning

Silver £500 per day – minimum of 2 days – activities as above PLUS

  • MAX 3 lesson observations and feedback

  • Policy scrutiny and development

  • Progression planning – from key stage 3 and onto key stage 5

Gold (minimum of 2 days) £600 per day – minimum of 2 days - activities as above PLUS

  • 3-5 lesson observations

  • Full department audit – redevelopment of schemes of work and lesson plans

  • Extra – curricular audit and development

Our Director is able to support independent, international and specialist schools working within ISI and BSA frameworks.

 

Director in residence

 

Working with an experience industry professional can transform both the curriculum and the extra curricular offer. Directors in residence can work alongside classroom teachers, plan, direct and stage a range of productions and support with curriculum planning. 

Directors can be contracted to work with you on a flexible basis from a part time contract (from 2 days per week) to a half, termly or annual residency (minimum 6 weeks). Prices negotiable.
